Nigerian clubs face busy weekend of domestic and continental action
Nigerian football clubs will be in action across domestic and continental competitions this weekend, with Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City set to renew their Lagos/South West rivalry before four NPFL sides take on opponents in CAF competitions.
The action begins on Friday, September 4, as Sporting Lagos face Ikorodu City in the Lagos/South West Derby, with kick-off scheduled for 4pm.
On Saturday, September 5, attention turns to the continent, with Rivers United travelling to Côte d’Ivoire to face San Pedro in the CAF Champions League at 4pm.
Also at 4pm, Shooting Stars will host Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Sunday, September 6, brings another double-header involving Nigerian clubs. Rangers International will welcome Benin Republic’s AS Sobemap in the CAF Champions League, while El-Kanemi Warriors host Guinea-Bissau’s UDIB in the CAF Confederation Cup. Both matches are scheduled for 4pm.
It promises to be a packed weekend for Nigerian football, with domestic bragging rights and continental progress at stake.
