Nigerian teenager Nefeye Osazee signs first professional contract with Bournemouth

Nigerian midfielder Nefeye Osazee has signed his first professional contract with Premier League club Bournemouth.

The Cherries announced the deal on their official website, confirming that the highly rated youngster has committed his future to the club just five days after celebrating his 17th birthday.

Osazee joined Bournemouth as a first-year scholar in July 2026 following his departure from Arsenal.

Although eligible to feature for the club’s U18 side, the teenager has predominantly played for the U21s since his arrival. He has made two appearances in Premier League 2 and also started Bournemouth’s Premier League Cup fixture against Cardiff City.

The Nigerian youngster has already made a significant impact at youth level. On August 22, he registered two assists as Bournemouth’s U18s secured an entertaining 7-4 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Osazee was also part of the development squad that travelled to France for pre-season, where Bournemouth emerged winners of the Tournoi Européen.

Reflecting on the milestone, Osazee described signing his first professional contract as a dream come true.

“It’s nothing short of amazing. I’ve always known I wanted to be here, but to actually get here, it’s a dream come true, to be honest.

“I’ve really been loving it. The coaches especially have been a huge help. The assistance I’ve gotten, the guidance, they walk me through everything. It’s nothing short of amazing.”

The occasion was made even more special by the presence of 15 members of Osazee’s family, including his grandfather, who travelled all the way from Nigeria to witness the teenager sign his first professional deal.

With his progression already attracting attention within Bournemouth’s academy setup, Osazee will now look to build on his promising start as he continues his development towards senior football.
