Ofili storms to Brescia 200m victory
Nigeria’s Favour Ofili continued her impressive 2026 campaign on Sunday with a commanding victory in the women’s 200 metres at the Grand Prix Brescia in Italy.
Ofili produced a superb wind neutral time of 22.03 seconds to comfortably claim first place, finishing well ahead of Jamaica’s Ashanti Moore, who crossed the line in 22.47 seconds. Ivory Coast’s Maboundou Kone completed the podium after clocking 22.66 seconds, while Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke finished sixth in 22.85 seconds.
The Nigerian sprinter delivered a controlled yet authoritative performance, maintaining her advantage through the closing stages to secure victory against a competitive field. Her 22.03 second run further underlined her growing consistency in the 200m and reinforced her position as one of Nigeria’s leading sprint prospects on the international circuit.
