Olisa Ndah makes Al Shomooa debut in narrow defeat to Al-Ittihad

Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah has begun his journey in Libyan football after making his first appearance for Al Shomooa SC in their 1-0 defeat to Al Ittihad SC in the Libyan Premier League.

The Nigerian international featured for the entire match at the Al Khums Stadium, but his side were unable to recover from an early setback.

Noufel Ezarhoni proved decisive for Al Ittihad, finding the net in the 20th minute to hand the visitors the lead.

Al Shomooa searched for a response but could not find a way past their opponents, who protected their advantage until the final whistle.

Ndah moved to Libya after his contract with South African club Stellenbosch FC expired, opening a new chapter in his career.

The centre-back arrives with considerable experience, having won the Nigerian league title with Akwa United before enjoying a successful spell at Orlando Pirates, where he won four MTN Cups and two Nedbank Cup.

Despite the opening-day disappointment, Ndah will hope to build on his debut, maintain his fitness and help Al Shomooa improve their fortunes as the season progresses.
