Ondo North Youth Alliance endorses Abdul Tunji Mohammed for 2027 Senate race
The Ondo North Youth Alliance (ONYA), led by its President, Comrade Ojo Bright Eniafe, has officially endorsed Chief Abdul Tunji Mohammed (ATM) as its consensus candidate for the Ondo North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made during the Alliance’s expanded executive meeting held in Ikare-Akoko, where youth leaders from all six Local Government Areas of Ondo North were present.
Addressing attendees, Eniafe said the endorsement reflects confidence in ATM’s vision for youth empowerment and economic development. He emphasized that the Alliance sees the candidate as someone capable of translating youthful energy into tangible opportunities.
ONYA highlighted ATM’s focus on tackling youth unemployment and reducing rural-urban migration. A key part of his agenda includes establishing skill acquisition and ICT training centers across Akoko land, Owo, and Ose. These centers are expected to provide training in technology, agriculture, fashion, welding, and digital enterprise.
The group also pointed to plans to attract factories and agro-processing zones to Ondo North, which they believe will stimulate local job creation and economic growth.
According to Eniafe, ATM’s professional background in finance, real estate, and infrastructure development strengthens confidence in his ability to deliver on these plans. He also noted the candidate’s history of supporting students, artisans, and young entrepreneurs as evidence of long-standing commitment to youth development.
In his response, Chief Abdul Tunji Mohammed described the endorsement as a call to greater service. He pledged to prioritize youth-focused policies if elected, including sponsoring legislation and facilitating federal interventions aimed at boosting employment, technical education, and industrialization in the district.
He assured supporters that his administration would focus on building training centers, attracting investment, and creating opportunities to reduce youth migration.
The Ondo North Youth Alliance concluded by urging youth groups, student unions, and first-time voters across the district to rally behind ATM, describing him as a candidate with the vision and capacity to drive meaningful change for young people.
