The Osun State Football Association (Osun FA) has announced Prostar Mercurial as the official match ball of the SmartCity Osun State Football League, in a move aimed at improving the technical standards of the competition.

The announcement further strengthens Prostar Sports’ presence in Nigerian football, following its unveiling as the official match ball provider for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

As part of efforts to enhance the quality of play in the SmartCity Osun State Football League, the Osun FA has urged all participating clubs to purchase the Prostar Mercurial football for their training and practice sessions ahead of competitive fixtures.

According to the Association, regular training with the official match ball will help players become familiar with its weight, feel, movement and overall playing characteristics, allowing them to adapt more effectively during league matches.

The standard official price of the Prostar Mercurial football is ₦12,000 per ball. However, in support of the SmartCity Osun State Football League, Prostar Sports has approved a special discounted price of ₦8,500 per ball for participating clubs.

The concession represents a ₦3,500 reduction per ball, providing clubs with an opportunity to acquire the official match ball at a more affordable rate.

The Osun FA has encouraged all participating teams to take advantage of the discounted offer and integrate the official ball into their regular training programmes to ensure adequate preparation for the competition.

The Association reiterated its commitment to raising football standards across the state through improved competition management, strategic partnerships and initiatives that support the technical development of clubs and players.

The Osun FA also expressed appreciation to Prostar Sports for its support of the SmartCity Osun State Football League and its contribution to the growth and development of football in Osun State.
