Nigeria’s high jump record holder, Temitope Adeshina, has demonstrated her commitment to developing emerging athletes by sponsoring the women’s high jump event at the Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet.
The competition is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the YabaTech Stadium in Lagos, with the top four finishers in the women’s high jump set to share a total prize purse of ₦200,000.
Under the prize-money arrangement, the winner will receive ₦100,000, while the second-place finisher will earn ₦50,000. The third- and fourth-placed athletes will receive ₦30,000 and ₦20,000, respectively.
Adeshina’s sponsorship follows an impressive 2026 season in which she won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor High Jump titles for Texas Tech Track & Field, further strengthening her reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading athletes on the international stage.
A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and two-time African Championships silver medallist, Adeshina has continued to make her mark in international athletics while serving as an inspiration to aspiring athletes.
Her support for the women’s high jump event reflects her commitment to giving back to the sport by creating opportunities for upcoming athletes to showcase their abilities and compete for financial rewards.
The initiative is also part of Athletic Heat’s 10th anniversary celebrations, marking a decade of contributions to athletics and the development of emerging talents.
Athletes interested in participating in the anniversary meet have been encouraged to register through A3 Tickets.
With Adeshina’s backing, the women’s high jump event is expected to offer competitors additional motivation as they seek recognition and financial incentives while pursuing their athletics ambitions.
The Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet will be held under the theme, “10 Years of Impact. A Legacy That Keeps Running.”
