Tobi Amusan Marks Strong Return with Season’s Best in Xiamen
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan continued her return to form with a season’s best of 12.74 seconds to finish fourth in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Xiamen Diamond League on Saturday.
Reigning world champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica won the race in 12.53s, ahead of USA’s Grace Stark (12.58s) and South Africa’s Marione Fourie (12.62s). The Xiamen meet marked Amusan’s first hurdles race since her shock semifinal exit at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After a period of rebuilding away from the spotlight, the former world record holder showed promising signs of resurgence.
While she missed out on a podium finish, Amusan’s performance underlines her steady climb back to the top as she targets a return to dominance on the global stage.
