Transfer speculations end as Stanley Nwabali returns to Chippa United

Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to South Africa to rejoin Chippa United after a proposed transfer away from the club failed to materialise during the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian international had been strongly linked with a move following another impressive campaign for both Chippa United and the Super Eagles, attracting interest from several clubs eager to secure his services.

Despite the speculation, no agreement was reached, paving the way for the 29 year old goalkeeper to resume duties with the South African Premiership side ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The former Enyimba shot-stopper is expected to report for training as Chippa United intensify preparations for the new campaign.

Nwabali's return comes as a significant boost for the club, with his experience, leadership and consistent performances expected to play a key role as Chippa United target a successful season.

Having established himself as one of Nigeria's most dependable goalkeepers in recent years, Nwabali will now shift his focus to helping Chippa United achieve their objectives while continuing to strengthen his position as the Super Eagles' first choice goalkeeper.
