Volleyball: Defending champions Zamalek advance to grande finale

In a memorable semi-final match, Egypt's defending champions, Zamalek, triumphed over Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) with a score of 3-2 (25-23, 28-26, 19-25, 24-26, 15-12), securing their place in the final of the African Women's Volleyball Inter-Club Championship at the Indoor Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

 

The match lived up to expectations, with the Kenyan team receiving enthusiastic support from the crowd, who cheered for every move, strike, and shot made by the KPC players.

 

This contest showcased a blend of experience, determination, strategy, and strength, highlighting the growth of the sport across the continent.

 

Fans who spoke to the media praised the performances of both teams, expressing confidence that Africa will be well represented at the World Cup later this year.

 

Zamalek will be competing in their third consecutive final, having claimed victory in the previous two editions in 2023 and 2024.

 

This marks the 39th edition of the Africa Women's Volleyball Champions Clubs Championship.

 

In the final, Zamalek will face their long-standing rivals, Al Ahly, the most successful club in the Women's Volleyball Champions Clubs Championship, on Sunday, April 13th, commencing at 3:00 PM GMT in the indoor hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
