AACT 2026: Babagirei-Ahmad assures visitors of smooth visa processing, warm reception
With nine days to the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Chairperson of the Visa, Airport Reception and Protocol Committee, Zulaiha Babagirei-Ahmad, has assured visitors of smooth visa processing and a warm reception ahead of the continental women’s golf championship.
Babagirei-Ahmad expressed confidence in the arrangements being coordinated by her committee, noting that visa processing for visitors expected at the tournament had been smooth so far as preparations intensify for the arrival of participating countries.
She said the committee was committed to providing a seamless experience for golfers, team officials and other delegates, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and enjoy a memorable stay in Nigeria.
With about 30 African countries expected to participate, the committee is working with relevant agencies and stakeholders to coordinate visa arrangements, airport reception and protocol services.
According to Babagirei-Ahmad, the focus extends beyond facilitating visitors’ arrival to ensuring they feel welcome from the moment they land, with appropriate reception and support throughout their stay.
She added that the championship offers Nigeria an opportunity to showcase its renowned hospitality while strengthening relationships among African nations through sport.
The 2026 edition will be the third time Nigeria has hosted the All Africa Challenge Trophy, following the 1996 championship at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and the 2010 edition at the IBB International Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 2 to 7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja, under the slogan “Uniting Africa Through the Greens.”
With nine days remaining before the championship begins, the committee has reaffirmed its readiness to help ensure a smooth arrival process and a welcoming experience for all visitors.
