CAF to unveil new WAFCON trophy
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) will unveil a brand-new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) ahead of the tournament’s kickoff this weekend.
The official launch of the new trophy is set for Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in Morocco, the host nation, for this year’s competition. This initiative aligns with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s ongoing vision to grow and develop women’s football across Africa.
The unveiling will take place in two parts: first, a digital reveal across CAF’s online platforms in the afternoon, followed by an activation event in partnership with title sponsor TotalEnergies later in the evening.
WAFCON Morocco 2024 will officially kick off on Saturday, 5 July 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat. Hosts Morocco will open the tournament with a Group A clash against Zambia.
Further details and the official design of the new trophy will be revealed during the launch.
