Chukwueze changes game in minutes as Milan's lead slips away at Juventus
Samuel Chukwueze once again demonstrated his value as an impact substitute, setting up AC Milan’s opening goal just seven minutes after coming off the bench in their 1-1 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
The Nigerian international was introduced in the 61st minute by Ruben Amorim with the contest still goalless. His arrival immediately injected greater speed and attacking urgency into Milan’s play, particularly down the flank.
Chukwueze’s influence quickly translated into a breakthrough. In the 68th minute, the winger produced a well weighted cross into the Juventus penalty area, where young Milan forward Alphadjo Cissé finished clinically to give the visitors the lead.
The assist capped another energetic cameo from Chukwueze, whose limited time on the pitch did little to prevent him from making a significant contribution. His performance also saw him credited with creating several chances as Milan sought to protect their advantage.
However, Milan’s hopes of leaving Turin with all three points were dashed deep into stoppage time when Federico Gatti found the equaliser for Juventus. The late strike ensured the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw.
Despite surrendering the victory, Chukwueze can take considerable encouragement from another influential appearance under Amorim, strengthening his reputation as a player capable of changing games whenever called upon.
