EFCC Arrests 30 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Asaba, Seizes Exotic Cars and Phones
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters in Asaba, Delta State, in a major crackdown on cybercrime.
The arrests were made on Friday, March 14, 2025, by the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate, according to Dele Oyewale, the Commission's spokesperson.
The suspects, believed to be involved in internet-related fraud, were apprehended based on credible intelligence. During the operation, the EFCC seized five exotic vehicles and several mobile phones from the individuals.
“The suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud,” Oyewale confirmed in a statement. “Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include five exotic cars and phones. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
