Borno Governor Commends IGP Egbetokun, Unveils New Resources to Boost Police Efficiency
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has praised the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, during a significant event in Maiduguri on Friday, 14th March 2025.
The Governor’s commendation comes in recognition of the IGP’s exceptional leadership and the Nigeria Police Force's remarkable contributions to national security.
In an effort to further enhance the operational capacity of security forces in Borno State, Governor Zulum and IGP Egbetokun inaugurated a series of critical resources aimed at bolstering police efforts.
A fleet of 110 operational vehicles and 500 motorcycles were unveiled, designed to boost mobility and improve the police's response times across the state. Additionally, 40 newly constructed housing units for police personnel were commissioned, bringing the total number of residential units available to officers at the Mai Mala Buni Housing Estate to 270.
The event was attended by top officials, including distinguished senators and other dignitaries, all of whom recognised the collaborative effort between the Borno State Government and the Nigeria Police Force.
Governor Zulum emphasised his administration's unwavering commitment to ensuring the police have the tools and infrastructure necessary to effectively secure the state, furthering his government's long-term security objectives.
IGP Egbetokun expressed his gratitude for the Borno State Government's ongoing support and underscored the Nigeria Police Force's dedication to improving security operations and the welfare of its officers.
The IGP noted that the new operational assets would significantly increase rapid response capabilities, while the housing units would serve as a motivation for officers, boosting their dedication to duty.
This partnership between Borno's state leadership and the Nigeria Police Force marks a significant milestone in improving both the operational efficiency and living standards of the security personnel, ultimately strengthening the safety and well-being of the state's citizens.
