FCC launches digital platform to boost transparency across 700+ MDAs
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has unveiled a new website and integrated digital platform in a major step toward enhancing transparency, accountability, and compliance monitoring across more than 700 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The launch event, held on April 28, 2026, at the Presidential Villa Banquet Hall, Abuja, brought together top figures from Nigeria’s Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, underscoring the national importance of the initiative.
In her remarks, FCC Executive Chairman Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran described the platform as a turning point in the Commission’s reform agenda. She noted that the website would improve public engagement, streamline service delivery, and align the Commission with global standards in governance. The initiative, she added, supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which emphasizes digital transformation and inclusive governance.
Representing the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, Hajiya Laila Barau Jibril highlighted the broader societal impact of the platform, describing it as a bridge between government and citizens that promotes inclusion and trust.
On behalf of Vice President Kashim Shettima, Mallam Sadiq Wanka commended the FCC for adopting innovation to strengthen governance and ensure equitable distribution of opportunities across the federation.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, formally unveiled the platform on behalf of the President. He emphasized that the initiative would enhance institutional performance, improve access to information, and reinforce fairness in public service delivery.
Also speaking, Idris Wase, representing the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Federal Character Committee, praised the FCC’s leadership for leveraging technology to drive accountability and equitable access to opportunities.
The event saw participation from key national institutions, including the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Code of Conduct Bureau, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, led by its Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s public sector modernization efforts, positioning the FCC as a key driver of transparent, inclusive, and technology-driven governance.
