Flamingos coach Hakeem Busari targets global impact at FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, Hakeem Busari, has expressed his determination to make a lasting impression on the global stage as the Flamingos prepare for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The Nigerian tactician described the tournament as an important opportunity for both Nigeria and his technical crew to demonstrate their capabilities against some of the world’s best young footballers.
Busari said his personal ambition aligns with the team’s collective desire to make the country proud, stressing that he remains focused on tactical preparation, player development and fulfilling his responsibilities on the pitch.
“For me, I want to make a name; I want to make a mark for Nigeria and equally for myself,” Busari said.
“As a coach, whatsoever you do, a lot of people are looking at you, but you don't know where your career will take you. All the best is for you to just do your artistry work on the team, free your mind, do your job on the pitch.”
The Flamingos handler acknowledged that the team has identifiable strengths but insisted that further improvements would be necessary to compete effectively as the tournament progresses.
“At this point, we can see our strong points, but we still want to do more,” he added.
His comments reflect the technical crew’s determination to continue developing the players and ensure the team meets the standards required to compete against top opposition.
Nigeria will be looking to build on the country’s history in women’s youth football as the Flamingos seek an impressive outing at the global tournament.
The coaching staff has continued to focus on tactical organisation, physical conditioning and attacking efficiency in preparation for the challenges ahead.
Discipline, stamina and clinical finishing remain key areas of attention as the players prepare to test themselves against leading teams in the age-grade competition.
With expectations rising among Nigerian football supporters, Busari will be keen to translate the team’s preparations into strong performances on the pitch.
For the Flamingos coach, the tournament offers an opportunity to advance Nigeria’s ambitions while establishing his credentials on the international stage.
The team’s immediate objective will be to approach each match with discipline, confidence and determination as they pursue a memorable World Cup campaign.
