Ikorodu City appoints Seyi Jones as General Manager

Nigeria Premier Football League side Ikorodu City FC have confirmed the appointment of Seyi Jones as the club’s new General Manager, as the Oga Boys continue to build structure and stability during an impressive top-flight campaign.

The appointment was announced in an official statement released on Friday, with the club’s management expressing strong confidence in Jones’ administrative depth and leadership qualities.

“The management of Ikorodu City Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Seyi Jones as the General Manager of the team,” the statement read.

Jones arrives with a solid background in football administration. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer/General Manager of Nigeria National League side 1472 FC, while also working as Chief Operating Officer of Lagos-based Smart City FC. Beyond football administration, he is a co-founder of Bethel International, further underlining his organisational and strategic experience.

According to the club, Jones emerged as the preferred choice after a rigorous selection process involving interviews with top executives.

“The club welcomes Seyi Jones on board with a wealth of experience as we continue to chase our goals and objectives in the Nigeria top league,” the statement added.

Ikorodu City are currently enjoying one of the best seasons in their history, sitting second on the NPFL table with 45 points from 27 matches, and firmly in contention for a continental spot.

Jones’ immediate mandate will be to strengthen the club’s administrative and strategic framework, ensuring off-field efficiency matches the team’s on-field ambition as they push for a strong finish to the season.
