Kaduna and Enugu to jostle for 2025 Ramat Cup title
The Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa State came alive today as the semi-finals of the 40th Ramat Cup International produced goals, drama, and excitement for football lovers.
The day’s first semi-final saw a tightly contested battle between Kwara and Kaduna. Kwara opened the scoring before Kaduna struck back to level the match at 1–1. With neither side able to find a winner in regulation time, the game went to penalties, where Kaduna kept their composure, converting all five spot-kicks to Kwara’s three, sealing their place in the final.
In contrast, the second semi-final was a one-sided affair as Enugu displayed ruthless attacking football against Benue. From the opening whistle, Enugu dominated proceedings, scoring six unanswered goals to book their ticket to the final in emphatic fashion.
Attention now turns to Saturday’s closing fixtures. Kwara will face Benue in the third-place playoff at 2:00 p.m., while the curtain will come down on the tournament with the much-anticipated final between Kaduna and Enugu at 3:30 p.m., a clash expected to attract a large crowd and provide a thrilling conclusion to the prestigious competition.
Organised annually by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), the Ramat Cup International continues to be a platform for discovering and nurturing young football talents across the country, with this year’s edition living up to expectations.
