NCAA Seeks Probe of K1 De Ultimate Over Alleged Flight Disruption
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally requested the intervention of the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to investigate and prosecute renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following a reported breach of aviation protocols aboard a ValueJet flight.
The incident, which took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, aboard Flight VK201, is said to have disrupted normal airline operations and raised serious concerns regarding passenger conduct and compliance with aviation safety regulations.
Preliminary findings indicate that K1 De Ultimate allegedly violated provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023, prompting the NCAA to escalate the matter for criminal investigation and possible prosecution under the full extent of the law.
In a strongly worded letter to both the AGF and IGP, the NCAA emphasised the need for accountability, stressing that no individual regardless of fame or influence is above aviation law. The authority has also urged the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to consider placing K1 De Ultimate on a temporary No-Fly List across all commercial airlines, pending the conclusion of investigations.
Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, underscored that the advisory aligns with international aviation best practices aimed at safeguarding passengers, crew, and aircraft operations.
"The integrity of our airspace cannot be compromised. All passengers must adhere strictly to aviation rules. This case will serve as a test of that commitment," the NCAA stated.
