NFF CAF D License Coaching Course begins in Osun with 40 enrolled participants
The NFF CAF D Licence Coaching Course, hosted by the Osun State Football Association (FA), has commenced at Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo, Osun State, with 40 participants taking part in the grassroots football development programme.
The coaching education initiative brought together coaches, facilitators, football administrators and community leaders in a serene, world-class learning environment at one of the country’s biggest football academies.
Welcoming guests, facilitators and participants, the Osun FA Chairman emphasised the importance of continuous learning, describing knowledge as a powerful tool for personal development and community progress.
He noted that participants were privileged to receive instruction from experienced football resource persons led by former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen.
Other facilitators include NFF Head of Coaching Education, Dr Terry Eguaoje, former international Edema Fuludu and other seasoned instructors.
In his welcome address, the Osun FA Chairman said: “One of the most important lessons I have learned in life is that we must never stop seeking knowledge. Knowledge gives us the power to understand our environment, make informed decisions, solve problems, and create opportunities for ourselves and others. As the saying goes, knowledge is power.”
He urged participants to take the knowledge acquired during the programme back to their respective communities, stressing that the impact of the course should be measured by the positive changes it generates beyond the training venue.
“When we share knowledge, we multiply its benefits. One person can educate another, who can then educate many others,” he added.
The FA Chairman also appreciated the supporters of the programme, particularly Lanreleke Sports Academy founder and host, the facilitators, technical advisers and community leaders. He called for greater cooperation and investment in the development of children and young people, describing them as the future of society.
Also speaking at the ceremony, former Nigeria international and member of the Oyo State Football Association, Mutiu Adepoju, popularly known as ‘Headmaster’, encouraged participants to listen attentively and remain committed to becoming better coaches.
Similarly, the academy’s founder, Engr Lanre Adeleke, represented by his brother, Engr Lekan Adeleke, Project Manager of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd., welcomed the participants and disclosed that the institution celebrated its fifth anniversary last month.
He reaffirmed the academy’s commitment to supporting government institutions and football administrators, adding that it would continue to contribute to football development in Osun State and Nigeria.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Osun State Football Association board and officials of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, led by Bayo Adesina.
Following the opening remarks and goodwill messages, Mayor Sola Fanawopo formally declared the training programme open, setting the stage for 40 participants to undergo intensive coaching education aimed at improving grassroots football development.
