Niger Tornadoes bank on Kabiru Dogo to lead NPFL revival
Niger Tornadoes have unveiled seasoned tactician Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, signaling the club's determination to mount a stronger challenge in the coming campaign.
The Minna based side confirmed that Dogo has signed a three year contract, entrusting the experienced coach with the responsibility of rebuilding the team and steering it to greater success.
His appointment comes after an outstanding stint with El-Kanemi Warriors, where he guided the Maiduguri club to the final of the 2026 President Federation Cup.
Despite accepting the Niger Tornadoes job, uncertainty remains over whether Dogo will oversee El-Kanemi Warriors in their Federation Cup final against Ikorodu City, as no official clarification has been provided on his role for the decisive fixture.
Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished coaches in Nigerian football, Dogo brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of delivering results. Niger Tornadoes will be hoping his leadership and tactical expertise can inspire a turnaround as preparations intensify for the new NPFL season.
