Nigeria A continued their strong campaign in the Nigeria T20 Quadrangular Series with a five-wicket victory over Sierra Leone at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos.

Elijah Saturday produced the standout batting performance for Nigeria A, smashing 39 runs from just 21 deliveries to provide the attacking impetus for the successful chase.

Sesan Adedeji also made a valuable contribution, scoring 25 from 18 balls as Nigeria A maintained control of the run chase. 

The pair combined effectively to help Nigeria A reach Sierra Leone’s target with five wickets remaining, securing another important result in the four-team competition.

Saturday’s aggressive innings provided Nigeria A with early momentum, while Adedeji supplied the support needed to keep the chase on course.

The latest victory adds to Nigeria A’s impressive start against Sierra Leone in the tournament. The two sides had previously met in the opening round on September 21, when Nigeria A recorded a 33-run victory.

In that first meeting, Nigeria A posted 113 for eight before dismissing Sierra Leone for 80 in 19.5 overs. 

The quadrangular series also features Nigeria and Ghana, with all four teams competing at the TBS Cricket Oval in Lagos.

Nigeria A’s latest victory keeps them firmly involved in the battle at the top of the competition as the tournament moves towards its concluding stages.

The side had also produced an important result earlier in the series, while the national team recorded an eight-wicket victory over Ghana on the opening day. 

Day Four subsequently left Nigeria A top of the standings on six points, with Nigeria and Sierra Leone level on five points each and Ghana yet to register a point. 

With the competition entering its decisive phase, Nigeria A will be seeking to maintain their consistency and finish the home tournament strongly.

Saturday’s explosive 39 and Adedeji’s 25 provided the latest evidence of Nigeria A’s batting depth as the team continued its push for success in the T20 quadrangular series.
