Nigeria poised to make history as LOC Chairman Adeyinka Adeboye declares readiness for Africa Armwrestling Championships
As anticipation builds for a defining moment in African sports, Hon. Adeyinka Adeboye, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 14th Africa Armwrestling Championship and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, has declared Nigeria fully prepared to host the Maiden Africa Armwrestling Championship Mascot Unveiling and Fundraising Gala.
The landmark event is set to take place , June 14, 2025, at the prestigious NAF Conference Center, Kado, Abuja, marking the official countdown to the continent-wide championship scheduled for July 23–27 in the Nigerian capital.
During a high-level pre-event inspection, Adeboye led a delegation of top officials from the Nigeria Armwrestling Federation, including:

Adeboye described the gala as a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s sporting renaissance:

The gala will feature the grand unveiling of the official championship mascot, developed in partnership with Prostar Sports International, symbolizing strength, courage, and African unity. The night also serves as a critical fundraising initiative, drawing interest from key sponsors, stakeholders, and dignitaries across business, government, and sport.
Adeboye affirmed full attendance from all VIP guests, including high-level government officials and corporate leaders. He extended special appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support of sports development across Nigeria.
