Oshoala strikes, Ucheibe debut as Al-Hilal storm into Super Cup Final
Nigerian veteran forward Asisat Oshoala marked her return to competitive action in emphatic fashion, scoring the decisive goal as Al-Hilal defeated Al-Ittihad Ladies Club 2-1 to book their place in the Super Cup final.
Oshoala was handed a starting role for Al-Hilal in the semi final and wasted little time reminding everyone of her quality in front of goal. The experienced Nigerian forward found the back of the net before half-time, putting her side ahead and giving Al-Hilal a crucial advantage heading into the second half.
With Oshoala leading the attacking line, Al-Hilal continued to apply pressure after the interval as they searched for another goal. Al-Ittihad responded strongly and kept the contest competitive, but the Riyadh based side remained composed and protected their advantage.
The encounter eventually ended 2-1 in favour of Al-Hilal, with Oshoala's goal proving crucial in securing their ticket to the Super Cup final. Her return to action could hardly have been more impressive as she once again demonstrated her clinical finishing and importance to the team.
Oshoala will now turn her attention to the final alongside fellow Nigerian international Christy Ucheibe, who made her debut for Al-Hilal.
The duo will be hoping to combine their experience and quality to help the club complete their Super Cup campaign by lifting the trophy.
