The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the launch of its official self-service modification portal, selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, to ensure the security and integrity of National Identification Number (NIN) data.

In a press release signed by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications, NIMC warned Nigerians against using unauthorized websites for NIN modifications, stressing that doing so could lead to identity theft and data breaches.

The commission assured users that the newly introduced self-service portal provides a secure and convenient way to update their information from any location.

"For all your NIN modification needs, click on selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng," the statement read.

NIMC urged citizens to seek official channels for inquiries by visiting www.nimc.gov.ng, sending an email to nimcustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, or calling the customer care line at 070022556462.

The initiative aims to enhance data protection and streamline NIN modification processes for Nigerians.
