Rwanda's Police WVC achieves ninth place at 2025 Women's African Volleyball Club Championship

The Police Women Volleyball Club of Rwanda triumphed with a decisive 3-1 win against Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Match 52 of the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, securing a commendable 9th place in the tournament held in Abuja.

In an exciting classification match for the 9th and 10th positions, the Rwandan team rebounded from a narrow 23-25 defeat in the first set to dominate the next three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-17.

The match featured intense rallies, strategic play, and moments of exceptional individual performance.

Sanimani Namani, wearing jersey number 8, led the effort for Police WVC, showcasing her formidable attacks and consistent scoring ability, which posed a significant challenge for the Nigerian defense. Her offensive skills were particularly highlighted in the third set, where Police WVC surged to a commanding 20-9 lead. Although NCS made a late attempt to close the gap, they could only narrow the score to 25-20 before the Rwandan team secured the win.

Despite the support from the home crowd, Nigeria Customs Service struggled to sustain their initial momentum. After winning the first set, they were unable to keep pace with the East Africans in the following sets and ultimately finished in 11th place.

This victory represents a strong conclusion for Police WVC in this year's championship, underscoring their development and competitive spirit on the continental level.
