Former Super Eagles striker Daniel Amokachi has strengthened his coaching credentials after successfully obtaining the CAF A Licence in Morocco.

The Nigerian football legend confirmed the achievement after completing the coaching programme, expressing appreciation to the Moroccan Football Federation for the opportunity.

“Finally CAF A in the bag. Thank you Moroccan Football Federation for the opportunity,” Amokachi said in announcing the milestone.

The qualification marks another important stage in the former striker’s transition into coaching and technical management following an illustrious playing career.

Amokachi has previously served in coaching and technical capacities, including as an assistant coach with the Super Eagles, and has continued to develop his credentials away from the pitch.

Nicknamed ‘The Bull’ during his playing days, Amokachi was one of Nigeria’s outstanding forwards of the 1990s. He was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

He also represented Nigeria at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups, while playing a key role in the historic squad that won gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

At club level, Amokachi enjoyed a distinguished European career, featuring for Club Brugge, Everton and Beşiktaş among others.

His coaching journey has taken him into various roles since retiring from professional football, including work with clubs and national teams.

Securing the CAF A Licence now provides the former international with an advanced coaching qualification recognised within African football and could strengthen his prospects of taking charge of a club or national team in the future.

For Amokachi, the achievement adds another significant qualification to a career that has already seen him excel as a player, coach and football administrator.

The former Super Eagles star will now be expected to use the new qualification as he continues to pursue further opportunities in coaching and technical management.
