ADC unveils 2027 Primary Election Timetable, fixes dates and nomination form costs

 

 

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its official timetable for the conduct of primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, alongside details of nomination form costs.

 

The schedule outlines comprehensive guidelines and requirements for aspirants seeking the party’s nomination, underscoring ADC’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and adherence to electoral regulations.

 

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed the timetable to journalists on Sunday.

 

According to the schedule, the process is already in motion, with the collection of application forms running from April 1 to May 4, 2026. The sale of nomination forms is set for May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13, 2026.

 

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and May 15, 2026, with results to be published on May 17. Candidates who wish to appeal their screening outcomes can do so between May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20, 2026.

 

Primary elections will begin on May 21, 2026, featuring contests for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats, all to be conducted simultaneously at the ward level. Governorship primaries are slated for May 22, while the presidential primary election will hold on May 25, 2026.
