Bankole Olowokere summons 30-players to camp as Flamingos set sights on FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup
Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will resume camp on Sunday as preparations intensify for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals in Morocco.
Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has invited 30 players, four goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and eight forwards, to the Abuja camp as the bronze medalists from the 2022 edition look to mount another strong challenge on the global stage.
The Flamingos secured qualification in style, overcoming South Africa and Algeria in the African series to seal their ticket to the expanded 24-team finals. The tournament will run from October 17 to November 8 across four venues in Rabat and Salé: Prince Héritier Moulay El-Hassan Sports Complex, Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, Al Barid Stadium, and the Mohamed VI Football Academy. This year’s event marks the first of five consecutive U17 Women’s World Cups to be hosted by Morocco.
The 30 invited players are expected to report to camp in Abuja on Sunday, September 7.
