Durosinmi leads Belgian scoring chart after another man of the match display
Nigerian striker Rasheed Adebayo Durosinmi has continued his impressive start to the Belgian Pro League season, claiming another Man of the Match award after helping Racing Genk hold league leaders Gent to a 1-1 draw.
The result marked the first time Gent dropped points in the Belgian top flight this season, with Durosinmi once again playing a central role for Genk. 
The Nigerian forward’s latest individual honour further underlined his growing influence at the Belgian club, where his goals have propelled him to the top of the league’s scoring standings.
Reflecting on another Man of the Match recognition, Durosinmi expressed satisfaction with his contribution while acknowledging the significance of leading the scoring chart.
“I am happy to have been voted Man of the Match again. It also feels good to be the top scorer at the moment.” 
The striker, however, remained measured about his personal achievements, stressing that football can change quickly.
“In football, anything is possible…” 
Durosinmi’s form has made him one of the standout Nigerian forwards in European football at the start of the 2026/27 campaign.
His latest performance came against a Gent side that had made a perfect start to the Belgian league season before Genk finally halted their winning run.
While Genk were unable to secure maximum points on home soil, the result was valuable against one of the division’s early pace-setters.
For Durosinmi, the individual recognition provides further evidence of his importance to Genk’s attacking setup.
The Nigerian has quickly established himself as a key figure in the team’s forward line, combining his goalscoring ability with a growing influence on matches.
His emergence at the top of the Belgian scoring standings is also likely to attract increasing attention from Nigerian football observers, particularly with competition for places in the Super Eagles attack becoming increasingly intense.
Nigeria currently has several forwards enjoying strong starts to the European season, including Gift Orban in Turkey and Tolu Arokodare at Ajax.
Durosinmi’s latest exploits therefore add another name to the conversation as Nigeria continues to monitor attacking options ahead of its upcoming international assignments.
For now, however, the Genk striker appears focused on maintaining his momentum rather than dwelling on the individual accolades.
His latest Man of the Match award and position at the top of the scoring chart have nevertheless ensured that Durosinmi is becoming increasingly difficult to overlook.
