Enyimba’s preparations for Wednesday’s Nigeria Premier Football League fixture against Sporting Lagos were disrupted on Monday after the club’s Sporting Director, Daniel Eke, reportedly arrived at the team’s training ground in Aba accompanied by Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officials.

The development reportedly led to the arrest of some personnel at the training ground, forcing the scheduled training session to be disrupted.

According to reports, the RRS officials took the affected personnel away from the training ground, although the precise circumstances surrounding the intervention and arrests were not immediately clear.

The incident has added another layer to the growing off-field issues surrounding the nine-time NPFL champions, who are also struggling to make an impression on the pitch at the beginning of the 2026/27 season.

Enyimba suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Inter Lagos on Sunday, with Ezekiel Moses scoring the only goal of the encounter in the 18th minute.

The defeat left Enyimba without a point from their opening three league matches, having also suffered earlier losses to Niger Tornadoes and Doma United.
