FCC Chairman Ayo Omidiran promises improved welfare, promotions, and staff engagement at Workers Day celebration

 

 

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to enhancing staff welfare, supporting career advancement, and fostering unity within the Commission, as the Fifth Commission celebrated the 2026 Workers’ Day.

 

Addressing staff at an event organised by the FCC Tripartite Union and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, Omidiran announced a series of approvals aimed at improving morale and boosting operational efficiency.

 

She revealed that funds have been approved for the payment of retirees’ benefits, noting that disbursements would begin in phases as funds are released. She urged patience among beneficiaries, assuring them that the Commission remains committed to exceeding expectations in staff welfare.

 

On career development, Omidiran confirmed that staff promotions have been approved and directed that the process be completed before the end of May 2026. She encouraged employees to remain dedicated and optimistic, emphasizing that management is actively working on additional initiatives for their benefit.

 

To strengthen internal communication and inclusiveness, the FCC Chairman also announced plans to introduce quarterly staff engagement sessions, alongside an annual end-of-year gathering designed to promote unity and interaction among employees.

 

In his remarks, Chairman of the FCC Tripartite Union/JNC, Benson Ameh, praised Omidiran’s leadership, noting that her efforts have revitalised confidence, unity, and efficiency within the Commission.

 

Similarly, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama, a former President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria and current Honourable Commissioner representing Taraba State, highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue and mutual respect between management and staff in achieving lasting institutional harmony.

 

Also speaking, the Director of Human Resources, Abubakar Tanimu, reiterated management’s commitment to building a motivated and professional workforce through fairness, capacity development, and service excellence.

 

The 2026 Workers’ Day celebration served as a platform to recognise the contributions of FCC staff while reinforcing the Commission’s resolve to nurture a productive and future-ready workforce in line with its mandate.
