The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced the postponement of the Matchday 9 fixture between Bendel Insurance and Rivers United, originally scheduled to take place in Benin.

The postponement comes as a result of Rivers United’s involvement in continental action this weekend. The Pride of Rivers are currently in Maputo, Mozambique, where they will face Black Bulls FC in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.

The encounter is slated for Saturday at the 3,000-capacity Lalgy Sport Arena in Matola, a city near Maputo, with a kickoff set for 3 p.m. local time (2 p.m. Nigerian time).

A new date for the NPFL Matchday 9 fixture will be communicated by the league’s management in due course once Rivers United return from their continental engagement.
