NWFL Premiership Matchday 11 previews

The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership rolls into Matchday 11 with fixtures spread across nine venues, as the race for Super Six qualification intensifies and the fight for survival grows more desperate.

Group A

In Numan, Adamawa Queens will be eager to steady their campaign when they host Ekiti Queens. The home side are looking to recover from a 2–0 defeat to Pacesetter Queens, a result that handed the Ibadan-based side their historic first top-flight win. With three losses in their last five matches, consistency remains a concern for Adamawa.

Ekiti Queens arrive with renewed belief after snapping a three-game losing streak with a 2–0 victory over Heartland Queens. The first meeting between both sides ended 1–1, and another closely fought contest is expected.

Pacesetter Queens, buoyed by that landmark win, will hope to build momentum when they welcome Ibom Angels in Ibadan. The newcomers are gradually finding their feet, recording one win, one draw, and three losses in their last five outings. Ibom Angels, who claimed a 1–0 win in the reverse fixture, will be targeting a season double despite a mixed run of form.

One of the standout fixtures in the group sees Heartland Queens host Edo Queens in Owerri. Edo Queens travel in high spirits after a commanding 4–1 win over defending champions Bayelsa Queens, underlining their title credentials. With four wins in their last five matches, the Benin side look formidable, while Heartland Queens must arrest a slide that has seen them lose three of their last five games. Edo edged the first meeting 1–0.

In Abuja, Naija Ratels face a stern test against in-form Rivers Angels. The hosts have struggled for rhythm, managing just one win in five matches, while Rivers Angels have surged with four wins in the same period. Having won the reverse fixture 1–0, the Port Harcourt side will be confident of strengthening their Super Six push.

Group B

Confluence Queens return to Iyamho with renewed optimism after a crucial 2–1 away victory over Abia Angels ended a three-game winless run. However, they face a tough challenge against FC Robo Queens, one of the league’s most decisive sides. The Lagos Landladies, yet to draw a match this season, cruised to a 4–0 win in the first leg and will be keen to assert their dominance again.

Abia Angels, back in Aba, will look to bounce back quickly after that setback, which halted a three-match winning streak. Their visitors, Remo Stars Ladies, are also seeking a response after their four-game unbeaten run was ended by Ahudiyannem Queens. The reverse fixture saw Remo claim a narrow 1–0 victory their first win of the season.

In Akure, Sunshine Queens and Delta Queens clash in a battle for consistency. Sunshine saw their unbeaten run snapped by FC Robo Queens last time out and have posted mixed results in recent weeks. Delta Queens mirror that inconsistency, with just one win in their last five matches. Their first meeting ended in a goalless stalemate.

Ahudiyannem Queens, one of the league’s surprise packages, will look to build on their impressive 2–1 win over Remo Stars Ladies when they host Osun Babes. Under new coach Adanna Nwaneri, the debutants are beginning to find rhythm. Osun Babes, meanwhile, are under pressure following a managerial change and a five-game winless run. They edged the first meeting 1–0 but must rediscover form on the road.

In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons welcome Dannaz Ladies in a finely balanced encounter. The former champions have shown flashes of stability, while Dannaz Ladies come in boosted by a morale-lifting win over Osun Babes. With the reverse fixture ending 0–0, little separates the two sides heading into this clash.
