Rasheedat Ajibade scores late goal as PSG cruise past Paris FC
Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade made a telling impact off the bench on Saturday, scoring late as Paris Saint-Germain Féminine sealed a comfortable 3–0 victory over Paris FC to book a place in the Coupe LFFP final.
Ajibade struck in the 89th minute, calmly tapping home a cut-back from close range to cap a dominant PSG performance. It was her second goal for the Parisian giants since joining the club and her first direct goal involvement since returning from injury, following her assist against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
PSG set the tempo early, enjoying the lion’s share of possession while remaining wary of Paris FC’s threat on the counter. Nigerian midfielder Jennifer Echegini started the encounter and injected energy and creativity into the midfield, helping PSG control proceedings.
Despite sustained pressure in the first half, the breakthrough came shortly after the restart. Romée Leuchter opened the scoring with a composed finish, latching onto a neat layoff from Jackie Groenen. Ten minutes later, Merveille Kanjinga doubled PSG’s advantage, firing in a powerful diagonal strike that left the Paris FC defence with no answers.
Ajibade’s late intervention put the result beyond doubt, underlining PSG’s authority on the night and confirming their place in the final in Abidjan. They will now await the winner of the second semi-final between Olympique Lyonnais Féminin and Dijon FCO Féminin as they chase silverware in the Coupe LFFP.
