Segun Olanrewaju: Autopsy of Nigerian boxer to be conducted on Wednesday

Segun Olanrewaju, the Nigerian boxer, died in the ring in Ghana on Saturday. His body remains in a Ghanaian mortuary.

Dr Rafiu Oladipo, President of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C), spoke with Sports Village Square. He stated that an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The NBB of C is carefully watching the situation in Ghana. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, wants updates on this tragic event.

On Monday, an NBB of C delegation visited the boxer's family. They met in Sango Otta, Ogun State. Oladipo expressed his shock at the boxer's death.

He believed Olanrewaju was fit, noting his last fight was on 29 December. A Nigerian delegate stayed in Ghana to monitor the autopsy.

He added that the boxer participated in the weigh-in on Thursday. This is standard practice 24 hours before a fight.
