Super Falcons set for friendly match with Cape Verde in April
The Nigeria women’s national football team are set to face Cape Verde in an international friendly match scheduled for April, as part of preparations for upcoming continental and global competitions.
The encounter is expected to provide both sides with an opportunity to test new players, refine tactics, and build cohesion ahead of future tournaments, including the next edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
This follows Nigeria’s recent two-legged friendly against Cameroon women’s national football team in Yaoundé during the last FIFA window between February and March 2026.
The Super Falcons’ camp is expected to open in Nigeria on April 11, where players will begin preparations ahead of the proposed friendly.
For Nigeria, the fixture will serve as another opportunity for the technical crew to assess squad depth, integrate fresh talent, and maintain the core group that delivered recent success on the continent.
Cape Verde, on their part, are expected to use the match to measure their progress against one of Africa’s most successful women’s national teams, gaining valuable experience against high-level opposition.
