Super Eagles Captain Attracts Saudi, UAE Interest

Super Eagles Captain Attracts Saudi, UAE Interest as Beşiktaş Set €8m Asking Price

Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi has emerged as a transfer target for clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with Turkish giants Beşiktaş reportedly refusing to consider offers below their €8 million valuation of the Nigerian midfielder.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Beşiktaş have already received enquiries and initial bids from clubs in the Middle East, but the offers failed to meet the club's financial expectations.

The Istanbul-based club signed Ndidi from Leicester City last summer in an €8 million transfer and are determined to recover their investment should the former Premier League star leave during the current transfer window.

Reports indicate that Beşiktaş have made it clear they will not negotiate any deal below the fee they paid to bring the Super Eagles skipper to Turkey, effectively placing an €8 million (approximately ₦12.6 billion) price tag on the experienced midfielder.

Despite the growing interest from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Beşiktaş are understood to be mindful of Ndidi's personal ambitions, with the Nigerian international still believed to favour remaining in European football if the right opportunity arises.

The Turkish club are therefore expected to evaluate offers based not only on their financial value but also on whether they align with the player's preferred destination.

Ndidi enjoyed a solid debut campaign with Beşiktaş, making 25 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig while contributing two goals and one assist from midfield.

The 29-year-old also featured prominently in the Turkish Cup and UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds, playing six matches and accumulating 540 minutes across both competitions.

A product of Nath Boys Academy, Ndidi remains one of Nigeria's most experienced midfielders and continues to play a key role for the Super Eagles.

The former Genk and Leicester City star is contracted to Beşiktaş until June 2028, with the Turkish club holding an option to extend his stay by an additional year, placing them in a strong negotiating position as interest in the midfielder continues to grow ahead of the 2026/27 season.
