APC Accuses Atiku of Politicising Insecurity for Political Gain

Yola, Nigeria – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of exploiting Nigeria’s security challenges for political advantage, following his reaction to a recent terrorist attack in Adamawa State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the APC’s Adamawa State chapter criticised Atiku’s comments on the Wagga Mongoro attack in Madagali Local Government Area, describing them as an attempt to politicise a national tragedy.

The party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, alleged that both Atiku and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he once served as vice president, share responsibility for the current security crisis facing the country.

“Atiku and the PDP government he once served laid the foundation for the insecurity we are battling today,” Abdullahi said. “Surprisingly, Atiku, whose tragic failure in leadership contributed immensely to the current insecurity, is now shamelessly using the very monster he helped create to further his diabolic plan to destabilise the country.”

The APC further described Atiku’s statement as “shameless grandstanding and politicisation of grief,” accusing him of leveraging national tragedies to advance personal and political interests.

As of press time, Atiku had not responded to the APC's allegations.
